Premeditated Combustion: OOC Plotting (Plaintext)
November Swear-In
Premeditated CombustionOn November 8, it starts as your regular sponsored Swear-In, version: outdoorsy in De Chima. Natives and ImPorts alike mingle to go camping, hiking, tree-bathing, and perhaps even some skinny-dipping if that's your thing. At sunset, you will be able to make s'mores, smoking weed by the campfire, and tell round-robin ghost stories (icebreaker!).
However, in the depth of the night, a fire will spread through the woods shockingly quick. Numerous Swear-In campers, both ImPorts or unpowered natives, as well as those living in nearby homes will find themselves in the path of danger. Media outlets will get ahold of the information quickly and spread the word. Both local fire and safety and other ImPorts will find themselves called upon to fight the flames.
And then there's Drogon, the massive black dragon, located by his companion Daenerys Targaryen. Found unscathed— but mysteriously unconscious in the midst of the destruction.
Accusations will begin to fly along with the smoke and debris, sowing interpersonal friction among the rescuers.ImPorts have to not only contend with the physical rescue challenges, but also the anger and suspicion of native people primed by the political climate.
In the wake of the fire, discontentment will still be simmering among the natives. Some believe that Drogon-- and thus ImPorts— were directly responsible. Opposite them, others will recognize it's possible natives were responsible or even an accident.
Daenerys will start a social media campaign to address these concerns and prejudices, with the hashtag #fightingfires to raise awareness. ImPorts are welcome to voice support or dissent.
The Fire
- Rescuees ❧ You need help! Maybe you were hiking for a sunrise overlook and then you found safety by standing in a river, or you were driving and got cut off on a country road. Maybe you're breathing smoke, or perhaps you're just scared. In any case, you need rescue. If you need ideas, I can help!
- Rescuers ❧ You're here to help. Perhaps you found a family caught camping by some trees, an injured park ranger, or you're working on a gas tanker truck that was marooned in the woods, set to explode. Need ideas? Let me know! I'm also happy to NPC up to 3 threads that might later lead to NPC contacts.
- Help Daenerys with Drogon ❧ Open to two volunteers! In search of a missing rescue crew, two ImPorts discover Daenerys' dragon, Drogon, in some trouble. Help fend off the mob coming for him until Daenerys is on the scene (GMed).
- Investigation ❧ Trying to clear Drogon's name, or get to the bottom of what happened? There are a lot of clues, including some strange psychic/empathic/telepathic runoff from the fire itself and Drogon's symptoms. (HINT: IT'S KAVINSKY but you probably won't find that out all the way.)
- Public Statement ❧ Make on via social media! Whether to a reporter or a private audience, that's up to you. But be aware, your stance on the event and wider politics is likely to reach beyond the walls of the venue. You might also donate to the victims to show your support.
